"Pascoli Sempre Nuovo": a new cultural festival dedicated to the poet Pascoli is born in Castelvecchio.

"Pascoli Sempre Nuovo" is born, the cultural festival at Casa Pascoli (Barga) from October 10 to December 3, 2026: meetings, cinema, technology and literature with great guests.

"Pascoli Sempre Nuovo": the cultural festival featuring literature, cinema, and current affairs kicks off at Casa Pascoli.

Castelvecchio Pascoli (Barga) hosts the debut of "Pascoli Sempre Nuovo," the first edition of the cultural festival promoted by the Giovanni Pascoli Foundation—in collaboration with the Campus Foundation and the Municipality of Barga—to explore the extraordinary and surprising relevance of the great poet. Inspired by the collection of writings "Antico sempre nuovo," the festival offers a program of free meetings at Casa Pascoli to explore how the poet's thought and poetics still resonate with our present.

The program of events: from Marco Antonio Bazzocchi to Giuseppe Piccioni and Alessio Carciofi

The festival, enriched by scenic readings by actors Marco Brinzi, Alessandro Bertolucci, and Federica Spanò, and by the coordinated image of artist Giorgia Madiai, unfolds between autumn and winter:

  • Saturday 10 October (4:00 pm): Inauguration with Prof. Marco Antonio Bazzocchi (University of Bologna) on the theme "Pascoli and the voices of the child: a creation of the world".

  • Saturday 7 November (4:00 pm): Director Giuseppe Piccioni talks about his film "Zvanì" with the conference "Making a film is an adventure".

  • Saturday, November 14 (4:00 PM): Current affairs and technology with teacher and digital detox expert Alessio Carciofi in the meeting "Turn everything off. From Pascoli to the artificial age, rediscovering silence to stay human."

  • Saturday 21 November (4:00 pm): Space for literature with the poet Alba Donati and the Corriere della Sera critic Roberto Galaverni in "Giovanni Pascoli: the beginning of the twentieth century".

  • Thursday 3 December (6:00 pm): Closing with Prof. Massimo Vincenzini (President of the Accademia dei Georgofili) on the connection between "From Pascoli's foods to the challenges of third millennium agriculture".

Practical information: All meetings are free, subject to availability. For information: call +39 348 7505767 or email info@fondazionepascoli.it.
